Chemical Spill

Below are pictures taken during the Chemical spill at TechSol Company. The spill
was in excess of 50,000 gallons of a chemical called Coal Tar Lite Oil also known
as Coal Tar Distillates. This chemical contained some very serious and dangerous
ingredients, Benzene, Zylene, Styrene, and Toulene. This was the largest Chemical
Spill in the USA in 2004 and for several years. Marathon Ashland Petroleum also was
involved because they were the ones that had commissioned this company to transport
this chemical to this location, a location that had no spill containment pit for such an
accident. There is still 10,000 gallons of this stuff in the ground in and around our homes,
it has never been found and we get the smells from it on a regular basis. What we know is
not what concerns us it is what we don't know that does.

These are the actual spill, you can see the absorption material in this drainage
ditch to catch it as it comes out. This ditch leads to a vacant lot across the street
from my house appx 30 feet.

Notice the water puddle in front of TechSol, it looks like plain water however it is
not, this is filled with Chemical. Look to the right and notice the tanker, this is the
culprit that caused the spill. It gushed out right into that mud puddle.

Notice all the tankers at this place. The thing is this place was not licensed to
handle chemicals at all. They were licensed as a pressure washing company.
You can see from these tankers here they haven't been doing any washing,
look how nasty they are. Had they been pressure washed they would have been
a little cleaner.

Here again is the tanker that emptied its contents on us, 50,000 gallons plus.

The regional response team. This team was a joke, they had to call the fire
department to have them demonstrate how to wear a self contained breathing
apparatus. They had never had any formal training on a chemical spill period.
This spill happened in October and this team was scheduled to go for chemical
training in November. Talking about flying by the seat of your pants.
